Delineate and explain the models of addictions counseling. Identify the model that you feel you are most likely to utilize in practice, and provide a reason for why you are inclined to follow it. Additionally, describe how you can learn to implement other models of addiction.
Select two of the models outlined in the textbook and explain how each one discusses initial use, transition from use to abuse, and relapse versus abstinence.
Explain how the use of an integrated/multicausal model helps the client and counselor with assessment, diagnosis, and treatment techniques to decrease drug use.
Discuss Jellineck’s disease model as an asset or deficit (for alcohol problems) and provide evidence for your position.
